Bomb Explodes In Kaduna Metropolis



An IED has exploded around the Ahmadu Bello Way/Lugard/Alkali axis in Kaduna, Kaduna State, according to eyewitnesses. At least 3 dead bodies were seen at the scene of the blast.

One eyewitness said that the IED, which was being transported by men believed to be members of the Boko Haram, detonated in transit, killing them instantly.


The source further said the loud bang shook the often crowded and busy part of the city where it occurred, sending wares and windows flying, just as people fled the scene. A combined team made of up the military and local law enforcement have cordoned off the scene of the blast. (TheWill)

Nollywood actress Lilian Bach denies secret wedding



The actress has denied reports making the rounds that she secretly got married to a man named Alaka and moved into his Lekki home a few weeks back. What she told an Encomium reporter below:

Ronaldo, Messi, Iniesta nominated for 2012 UEFA best player award



Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal, Real Madrid CF) Lionel Messi (Argentina, FC Barcelona) and Andres Iniesta (Spain, FC Barcelona) have been shortlisted by UEFA for the 2011/12 best player in Europe award.

The three Spain-based players came top of a poll of 53 journalists from UEFA's member associations. Andrea Pirlo of Juventus finished fourth, while Barcelona's Xavi came in fifth.

Messi won this award last year. Who do you think should win it this year? I think Ronaldo should, he was quite outstanding at the 2012 Euro Cup.

Police drops murder charge against banker, Yinka Johnson



Yinka Johnson, the banker accused of crushing a LASTMA official to death on Friday August 10th has been freed of the murder charge. The police, some LASTMA officials, eye witnesses and some members of the press visited the scene of the incident yesterday Monday August 13th to investigate further and afterwards all agreed that Yinka's car was not the car that hit and killed 33 year old Hammed Balogun. Eye-witnesses, including the one inside the bus that allegedly killed hammed, gave the police a clear account of what really happened that Friday.

After the investigation yesterday, the police officially dropped the murder charge and instead arraigned her for driving recklessly.

Yinka Johnson was brought to the Igbosere Magistrate Court today to face a one-count charge of driving recklessly. She was granted bail and ordered to pay fine. The case was adjourned to Sept 3rd.

Chris Okotie verbally attacks ex-wife Stephanie during church service



This happened in his House Hold of God Church just two days ago...during his sermon on Sunday August 12th. According to some members of his church that attended the service that Sunday morning, pastor Chris Okotie threw caution into the wind and verbally attacked his estranged wife, Stephanie Henshaw, comparing her to Jezebel in the bible and saying that he was free to judge her because of what he suffered in her hands. (He didn't say what). He was also quoted as saying that Stephanie was free to go to CNN or BBC to talk about him but he will never take her back.

Those who listened to him said he sounded so bitter and had never spoken about her like that before.

Pastor Chris has also taken back the two expensive cars he gave Stephanie during their four year marriage; a Benz S Class and a BMW X6

Felix Okoye and Wonu Odunsi to wed August 30th



The traditional wedding ceremony of popular Lagos 'big boy' and business man, Felix Okoye and LPM/La E'space co-owner, Wonu Odunsi, will hold on Thursday August 30th in Lagos. Their church wedding will hold two days later, on Saturday September 1st. Cute couple! Big congrats to them!
